Color, texture, products, environment.
Wow. What travel does for the soul. When Lizzie, Lynn and I are out on adventure we are mind-blown and taken aback by the unbelievable sights we see. We cannot wait to immerse and walk through Medinas and city plazas to find what the local people are making and selling. The arts and crafts of different regions are the visual stories telling us about their passions, joy and even day-to-day necessities. We learn of their handiwork, color palettes, materials on hand and how they make it work. What do they need to survive the cold, how do they keep their homes warm and what do they wear to keep comfortable? What kind of pots and bowls do they cook with? What kind of beads and jewelry are important? What materials do they save for themselves and what do they sell? What kind of environment do they work and live in? So many layers of information learned in so many ways are what makes this search the intriguing and alluring process it is. –LK
